The perpetual babushka.
I don’t think I have ever seen her without a scarf on her head.
Nora cared about her homeless son, and she was always looking for ways to help him. He had some serious issues, but Nora saw past those and just wanted the best for him.
Nora had a great sense of humour, and she joked with me all the time. There was a twinkle in her eyes, and despite leading a difficult life, she was always ready to smile.
Nora had a wonderful presence. It’s hard to describe, but it just felt good to be near her. It was like love spread out from her and hugged everyone around her.
There is a line in the Bible, from Philippians 1:3: “I thank my God every time I remember you.” I think that best describes my relationship with Nora. I miss her, and I am thankful that I got to know her.
